Liam Bowkett - Minor Design Project

Project

This minor product design project involved creating a coffee grinder and la cafetier by blending
the distinctive style of a chosen designer with a personal design approach. The process focused
on analysing the designer’s key aesthetics, materials, and forms, then re-interpreting those
elements through an individual creative lens. The result is a unique product that reflects both
the influence of an established design language and the designer’s own emerging identity,
combining functionality with a strong visual narrative.

Designer

Elodie Delassus’s design style is refined, poetic, and contemporary,
characterised by a delicate balance of minimalism and expressive
detail. Her work often features subtle textures, soft curves, and a muted
yet sophisticated color palette, creating designs that feel both elegant
and emotionally resonant. This aesthetic is reflected in the design of the
Soliel Cafetiere and coffee press through its carefully considered form,
understated hues, and tactile finishes, transforming the ritual of coffee
making into a serene and visually harmonious experience.
